Why Importers need QC ?
More and more suppliers in China are obtaining quality control certification recognized throughout the world to boost
firm competitiveness. Certification attempts to guarantee a standard of ethical and managerial practices as well as
technical capabilities. Many companies view certification as an easily obtained marketing advantage to increase clientele.
Consequential, certification alone is not always sufficient.
While certification has increased the average quality of products bearing a "made in China" label, there are still numerous reasons
why importers need independent QC operations.
 |
Local suppliers do not always have clear quality control guidelines. |
 |
Subcontracting is common in China. Even though
a main supplier may have high quality control standards, a subcontracted company may not. |
 |
Large gaps in quality expectations exist between local producers and
Western importers. When quality is not easily assessed, special expertise becomes necessary. |
 |
Product quality is rarely guaranteed by suppliers, and refunds for defective
products are almost impossible. |
The best way to guarantee top quality is to optimize communication and regularly implement and update effective
QC standards. The necessary considerations by each individual importer can not always be accomplished alone,
therefore outside help is useful in assuring everything functions properly.
Supply Chain and Risk Management
Poor quality and defective products will undoubtedly impact your company's image and revenue. At AsiaTech QC™, our expertise in QC processes
will improve your business. By monitoring your supply chain with custom–tailored and regular means, we reduce your risk to receive flawed
products and defective orders. Hence, business costs will be cut by greatly decreasing lost revenue from having to repurchase and wait for new products.
The diagram below depicts a classic supply chain on the left, and an optimized supply chain on the right:
Implementing proactive risk–management into the procurement process is the best way to avoid product recalls.
The first step in Risk–Management is to identify the weaknesses in the procurement process, and determine the impacts
failures could have on your business. Once these weaknesses have been identified, it's necessary to implement corrective
actions to minimize their effect on your business. These corrective actions may vary from product to product and supplier
to supplier.
